My first visited Hawkwood College for Future Thinking was in July 2022, when I was working on the script for the show. I spent five full days (and nights, almost!) storyboarding the show in the studio and producing blocks of breakthrough writing.
I returned recently as Artist-in-Residence to plan the Vivienne Sometimes exhibition (Hackney Archives, March-May 2023) and to work on the layout of a forthcoming graphic novel that tells the story of Vivien, Northumberland House Mental Hospital, mental health discourses and provision pre-NHS.
